Biography

A1 was an Anglo-Norwegian boy band whose first single, “Be the First to Believe”, was released in 1999. The band consisted of Mark Read, Paul Marazzi, Ben Adams and Christian Ingebrigtsen from Norway.

The groups publicity mainly focused on the fact that they wrote the majority of their own songs and three out of the four band members also played their own instruments.

During 2000 they got two of their singles to number one in the chart for the first time, a cover of A-Ha’s 1985 single “Take on Me” and “Same Old Brand New You”.

After the released their third album “Make It Good”, Paul Marrazzi left the band for personal reasons and the group subsequently split. Since they have split, they released a “best of” album in 2004 which featured their singles and two unreleased studio recordings.

In April 2005 Ben Adams released his solo single “Sorry” which reached number 18 in the UK singles chart.
