Biography

Ciara is a popular multi-talented singer, dancer, songwriter, and actress who has won 8 ASCAP awards, a Grammy Award, many Soul Train Awards, and many Lady Of Soul Awards.

Ciara was born in Austin, Texas, and grew up in army bases in Germany, New York, California, Arizona and Nevada, since her father was in the United States Army.

Ciara’s debut single, Goodies, became a hit, reaching the top of the United States pop and R&B/hip-hop charts, and also charting in the United Kingdom (in January 2005, also reaching number one), Australia, Germany, Sweden, and New Zealand. With help from Jazze Pha, Sean Garrett, Ludacris, and Lil Jon, Ciara released her debut album, Goodies on September 28, 2004. It entered the Billboard 200 chart at #3, and sold over 3 million copies in the USA alone.

Ciara’s second single “1, 2 Step” featuring Missy Elliot went #1 five times in the first week. Next week it went #1 all over the country (including The U.K., Australia, France and Germany. It was her biggest #1 hit single. It won and was nominated for many awards including 5 ladie of soul awards, 3 VMA Awards which she won.

The third single “Oh” featuring Ludacris also went #1 especially in the U.K., and New Zealand. It was #1 It won The “Coolest Collabo” with Ludacris at the 2005 Vibe Awards. It also went #1 in Australia and France. It marked her third #1 hit single.

Beyond Goodies

Furthermore Ciara was featured on Missy Elliott’s #1 hit “Lose Control”, taken from the rapper’s sixth album, The Cookbook. In the fall of 2005, she was featured singing alongside then boyfriend, Bow Wow, on the second single from his third album Wanted entitled “Like You”. The duet also reached a peak of #1. In the meantime her fourth single, “And I”, was released and peaked at #96 which was relatively poor compared to the first three singles.

In the December of 2005 Ciara joined Gwen Stefani on her “Harajuku Lovers Tour”, before going on tour with Bow Wow and Chris Brown for the “Holladay Jam” which stopped at cities like New York and Atlanta. On February 8, 2006 Ciara won her first Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video along with Missy Elliott. She also performed a duet with Maroon 5’s Adam Levine during the show in tribute to the legendary R&B musician Sly Stone, the song that they sung was “Everyday People”.

Ciara joined the “Candies Foundation” along with Hilary Duff and she made the product really big. She has had a additional Koals commercial for “Candies”

Ciara co-hosted 2006 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in Los Angeles on June 26th. She was nominated for the “Video of the Year” award with Missy Elliot and “Best Collaboration” with Bow Wow at the 2006 BET Awards, which she didn’t attend.

The Ciara: Legend Era

Ciara participated in a charity single for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, written and produced by Michael Jackson. The single, entitled “I Have This Dream”, was also to be released sometime in 2006 but never was as far as sources know.

Ciara: The Evolution

It has been confirmed that Ciara is working with her “prot?g? band” The Dynamics on their album slated for release on November 1st and is working as a writer and producer. Along with working with The Dynamics, she is working with the band’s lead singer, Derek on his debut album in stores February 2007.[citation needed] Ciara went on TRL on August 10th and announced that her sophmore album will be out on November 14th and will be entitled Ciara: The Evolution. Recently “Ciara: The Evolution is almost double-platinum. She is already making hits such as “Like A Boy” and her recent single “Can’t Leave ‘Em Alone”. She is truely a legend with her high pitched voice and vocals as shown in “Like A Boy” video and the song “My Love”. She is taking over 2007 and the whole R&B game with “Ciara: The Evolution” and her strong new vocals.


The first single “Promise” was #1 on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and U.S. Pop 100
and was nminated for many awards including BET Awards. It was her fifth #1 hit single. It also was certified platinum.


Ciara’s second official single “Like A Boy” premiered February 21, 2007 and got a “First Look” on MTV’s TRL and debuted on BET’s 106 & Park at #8 and peaked at #1.
Later it peaked on TRl’s Top 10 Countdown at #3. The record was a success and was #6 on U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and was #19 on U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The video version of the song features different edits from the album version. It was nominated for “Video of The Year at 2007 BET Awards and she also performed it along with “That’s Right” as she did a jump-split off the stage and left with a red robe that had 25 with a ? under it questioning her being #25 on BET’s “Top 25 Dancers Of All Time” (making a strong statementn that she’s a force to be reckoned with truely “The BEST”) on her back after crumping through the audience aile and stole the performace of the night from Beyonce.

“Like a Boy” is nominated for “Best Choreography in a Video” at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.

Her recent 3rd single (confirmed from rumors of her 3rd single being “My Love) “Can’t Leave ‘Em Alone” is doing big on the charts it is #62 on U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #17 U.S. Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. It is also # 7 on Deutsche Black Charts, #11 on FMC Urban Top 50, #6 on LCC Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and #5 on New Zealand RIANZ Top 40. It is also a Top Ringtone and Video Stream, and is doing big on iTunes. The video is hot and steamy t so Ciara’s vilogsousness and her grace, and sensuality as she works a pink and purple dress purple, rocks a yellow top with yellow booty-shorts and heels walking down a street, and rocks hot shades. She also shows her womanlyness as her and 50 Cent hug shirtless i a black background going around in a circle. It was confirmed that Ciara’s breast was covered with something during those sceens.

Her new single in the U.K., “Get Up (Kardinal Beats remix)” is a re-realease and becoming a big success in the U.K. (re-released on August 18, 2007.

Her 4th single is “That’s Right” it got nothing but good reviews and receptions it is a high energy track and is really good. The music video for “That’s Right” was shot back-to-back with “Can’t Leave ‘Em Alone”. On July 11, 2007, a 53 second clip of the music video, which was videotaped by an unknown person, was released on the internet. The footage shows Ciara and dancers performing choreography with extras and cars in the background. The Director is unknown. Her 5th single would mostlikely be “My Love”. She also would release “C.R.U.S.H.” as her 6th single. “Make It last Forever” next, and I’m hoping “Bang It Up” as a single after. Then later “So Hard” then “I Found Myself” which oth has impeckable vocal talent from Ciara. Those would be some real #1 hits


Other Ciara Era stuff 2006/2007

Ciara joined up with Glamour Reel Music and she chose 3 new up and coming artist, Tiffany Evans, Samantha Jade, and Paula Campbell. the winner was annouced earlier in August. The winner was Pauala Campbell.

Ciara was feature in Tiffany Evans’ “Promise Ring” and she also danced with Tiffany in the video and had a verse in the beginning and sang a little throughout the track. Promise Ring is just starting to go on the charts and is sure to be a success.

Ciara joined Jay-Z for the lead lady “Rocawear Campaign”, entitled “I Will Not Lose” and she rocked a lot of outfits and additional pictures were also put out as well as her “I Will Not Lose” campaign.

Ciara talked about her big screen movie “Mama, I Wanna Sing!” which she plays the lead role of Amara who is a church singer turned “pop goddess”. She sung with Patti LaBelle and finished filming in July. Additional pictures were put out. The movie is set to be released February 2008.

Ciara is making her debut as a director in Paula Campbell’s video “Ain’t Nobody Stupid.” It is actually done being shot and will be released soon.


Ciara Screamfest

Ciara will headline with Lloyd, T-Pain, T.I. and Yung Joc on the Screamfest ‘07. The tour was scheduled to begin July 24, 2007, but it was changed to August 3, 2007.

Ciara is doing her thing headlining with T.I. and has the most and hottest live vocal performance and dance perfomance, just BEST performance overall including adding 50 Cent to her performances and rapping with T.I. and dancing on a pole to her song “Get Up (Remix)” and to her #1 hit single off “Ciara: The Evolution “Promise”.
